NOTICIA COMPLETA:
FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 2005--Red Bend Software today announced that its vCurrent(TM) Mobile Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) update technology has been successfully integrated into the Siemens 65 generation of mobile phones. This follows the licensing agreement between the companies announced in 2004.
Siemens began to ship 65 generation phones incorporating the Red Bend technology in the second quarter of 2005. These advanced phones now provide customers with a SoftWare Update Over The Air (SWUOTA) capability. Many of the new 75 generation of Siemens handsets planned for release in the second half of 2005 will also benefit from the addition of SWUOTA.
Using Red Bend's advanced technology for creating and installing firmware updates over the air on mobile phones, Siemens can deliver critical upgrades to mobile phones already in users' hands. Users are able to quickly and reliably receive the most up-to-date version of their phone's firmware, without incurring the expense and inconvenience of visiting a service facility.
"As Siemens and other leading handset manufacturers add increasingly sophisticated features to their mobile phones, they need FOTA for increased reliability," said Yoram Salinger, Red Bend CEO. "Following in depth engineering evaluations, these handset manufacturers have selected Red Bend's technology as the most efficient and reliable FOTA solution."
